Camplify offers a nine year leadership journey of camp and monthly programs to leaders in training. These are the same skills that North Carolina summer camps have been utilizing for over a hundred years.
The first Camplify experience is weekend camp at Camp Bob at Kanuga. Our program begin in the spring of students’ 4th grade year when Camp Bob demostrates leadership skills for the youngest Camplify youth. This two-night pilot, just like every following experience, hinges upon our Leadership Competency Model. Up to 74 students in 4th grade, through intentional programming, embark on a journey that expands their knowledge of responsibility, respect, goal setting, and more. These same students practice leadership skills at two more weekend camps during 5th grade. Students will graduate after practicing leadership skills at three weekend experiences into the next phase of learning: weeklong camp.
After three weekends, our young leaders attend a week of summer camp for the following four summers. During weeklong camp, students thrive with positive role models and peer supports. They exhibit leadership skills as well as day-to-day values. In August 2019, Camp Pinnacle hosted their fifth weeklong camp for our local young leaders. After these successful Base Camp experiences, our middle and high school students are invited to school-year programming. Our middle school Pathmakers meet once per month to learn more about leadership together.
Western North Carolina Camp Community - Our Partners and Heroes
Camplify appreciates how gracious the local camp community is to our children. As an additional perk, residential summer camps offer individual camp scholarships to Camplify students. This summer, more than 60 Camplify students will attend a residential camp during a traditional session, up to five weeks. This acts as an optional fourth tier of our programming.
